Steve Mercer joined USW in 2006 as USW Director of Communications and was named Vice President of Communications in 2012. He oversees brand management, plans and implements USW producer communications programs, and serves as USW’s lead media contact. Steve also edits the Wheat Letter newsletter and writes news releases, opinion columns, articles, and presentations for USW staff and board members. He had extensive agribusiness communications experience before joining USW. He has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Journalism from the University of Illinois. Steve will retire from USW in July 2025.
