Dr. Senay Simsek is a Professor and Dean’s Chair in Food Science at Purdue University after serving 15 years at North Dakota State University. Dr. Simsek's research focuses on wheat and food biochemistry challenges faced by growers and end users. She has authored numerous papers and is a member of several professional organizations. Dr. Simsek has received the International Young Scientist Research Award, International Excellence in Teaching Award, Andersons Cereals and Oilseeds Award of Excellence, and the Purdue University 2022 Distinguished Women Scholar. She holds degrees in chemistry, biochemistry, and food science.
